Building Your Academic Web Presence

Do you want to be more visible to potential employers, collaborators, and funding bodies? It’s more important than ever to have a strong online presence. But where on earth do you start? This interactive workshop provides you with the tools and strategies you need to promote your research online, using social media, blogs, videos, podcasts, and networking sites.

By the end of this session, you’ll have a plan for building an online presence that helps you
achieve your academic goals.

  • Maximise your impact without spending too much time online.
  • Avoid the common pitfalls of social media.

About the trainer:

This session will be delivered by Dr Catherine Pope. Catherine is the training lead and coach specialising in supporting researchers and academics in the Higher Education sector. She has worked with PhD students through to Professors, helping them to break down complex challenges into more manageable tasks. She has written two books, How to Finish Your PhD and How to Publish Your PhD.
