The Oxford/Berlin Research Partnership seeks to connect the tremendous range of bottom-up connections with the identification of shared Priority Areas and Grand Challenges (in addition to the two current BUA Grand Challenges of social cohesion and global health). This list reflects academic discussion within the Partnership. We are especially keen to encourage inter-disciplinary or cross-disciplinary work across the areas listed below, as well as work that addresses their global dimension and engagement with the Global South.

Funding applications are made through the Berlin universities. In general, applications must be endorsed by two of the partner institutions involved (the university executive board/the head of a non-university research institute). You can access the Foundation’s funding statutes here.
