سوريا والصمت «هو مشروع تعاوني بين مركز الصمت وشبكة أكسفورد لأبحاث الإبادة الجماعية للأرمن ، تم إنشاؤه استجابة للصمت المحيط بالحرب في سوريا حيث تحولت الانتفاضة السلمية إلى كارثة إنسانية.
وستشهد حفلة الافتتاح عرضاً لراقصي الدراويش الصوفيين، أحمد الخطيب وعمر الخطيب البالغ من العمر ١٠ سنوات. ستكون قادراً على تصفح المكتبة والاستمتاع ببعض الأطعمة والمشروبات التي تقدمها مجموعة الأخوات السوريات ، وهي
مجموعة مجتمعية نسائية مقرها في أكسفورد.
البرنامج ، الذي يستمر إلى ۲۸ نوفمبر ۲۰۲۱ ، سيضم مكتبة الكتب باللغات العربية والكردية والإنجليزية للجمهور لقراءتها في قاعة بلاكويل وحوارات مع مؤلفين سوريين. وفصل الطبخ, ورشة عمل ورواية مصورة للشباب ؛ وعرض ورواية عن بعض أرقى المخطوطات الشرقية لمكتبة بودليان.
Syria & Silence is a collaborative project between the Silence Hub and the Oxford Network for Armenian Genocide Research, created in response to the silence surrounding the war in Syria where a peaceful uprising turned into a humanitarian catastrophe.
The launch will feature a performance by Dervish Sufi Dancers Ahmad Al Katib and 10-year-old Omar Al Katib. You will be able to browse the maktabah and enjoy nibbles and drinks provided by the Syrian Sisters, a women’s community group based in Oxford.
The programme runs from 18 October to 28 November 2021 and will feature a pop-up maktabah (library) of books in Arabic, Kurdish and English for members of the public to read in Blackwell Hall; conversations with Syrian authors; a cookery class; a graphic novel workshop for young adults; and a ‘show & tell’ with some of the Bodleian Libraries’ finest oriental manuscripts.
