As part of TORCH Comics and Graphic Novels: The Politics of Form network seminar series, Charlotta Salmi, University of Birmingham, theorizes the graphic novel as a contemporary, global, protest form, which stems from its ability to not only archive histories and strategies of protest, but reflect contemporary forms of state violence to channel movements for change.
