Queer Svit and Bold Mellon Collective in partnership with Queer Intersections Oxford and Reimagining Performance Network present The Queer Faces of War: Stories of Ukraine.

Performance: 5:30pm - 6:30pm

Register via Eventbrite

The performance is based on the life experiences of LGBTQ+ people impacted by the war on Ukraine, and will be a retelling of their stories performed by actors. The monologues have been developed with those impacted, to give us a window into their lives since the full-scale invasion, as well as to celebrate their bravery and resilience during wartime.

Who are Queer Svit?

Queer Svit is a grassroots non-profit that helps LGBTQ+ people and PoC affected by the war on Ukraine. Founded in March 2022, the organization has helped hundreds of queer people seeking safety following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Queer Svit provides transportation, housing, financial assistance, and reliable information. Importantly, they address the unique needs and challenges that LGBTQ+ and PoC face when seeking safety.

The event will be followed by a Q&A session with the co-founder of Queer Svit.

The event is free to attend, but we are asking for a suggested donation. Donations will help provide housing, transportation, and financial assistance to Queer Svit's beneficiaries.

Queer Svit and the fellow organizers understand that not everyone can afford to donate at this time — the event is open and donations are not a requirement.
