The Heritage Partnerships Team and the University of Oxford Careers Service facilitate a range of internships hosted by heritage organisations and museums. Internship opportunities include week long micro-internships organised termly, internship placements for Crankstart scholars and summer internships that take place across the summer vacation.

These internships, open to undergraduate and postgraduate students, help participants to gain experience in the heritage, museums and cultural sector. Internships contribute to the Heritage Partnership Team’s aim to develop partnerships through cross-sector training and knowledge exchange.

Intern projects cover a range of subject disciplines, geographic areas and historic properties. These projects allow interns to develop skills in curatorial research, policy and communications, strategy and development.

Throughout your internship you be supported by research and support staff at the heritage organisation or museum and/or staff in the Heritage Partnerships Team. By the end of the internship, you will have gained an in-depth knowledge of the heritage organisation or museum as well as experience of working in the heritage sector.

Current internship adverts will be listed under our Opportunities tab.
