Nayana Prakash

Nayana Prakash is a PhD researcher at the Oxford Internet Institute (OII). She also holds a BA in English Literature and Language from the University of Oxford, and an MA in Modern Literature and Culture from King's College, London.
Her PhD research focuses on Indian women's online storytelling, and the Internet as a site of neo-colonialism. She considers voice, agency and power in creative fiction on digital storytelling platforms.
In 2021, ‘Skeptechs’ - the podcast she co-hosts that discusses tech in current affairs - was named as one of Spotify’s ‘Next Wave’ winners, recognised as being at the forefront of next-generation podcast creators.
Freight Theatre founded in Oxford by Luke Wintour and Alex Rugman in 2017, Freight Theatre make award-winning experimental theatre which takes on the seemingly unstageable. At the moment, they’re exploring the impacts that technologies have on society. They believe that good theatre shouldn’t stop when the show’s over. It should follow you out the door, on to a march, into a noisy classroom, wherever you think you can change things.
