Johannes Pahlitzsch is Professor of Byzantine Studies at the University of Mainz, and the Principal Investigator of the Research Training Group Byzantium and the Euro-Mediterranean Cultures of War.
In 2019, he was a co-organiser of the 'The 20th Oxford-Princeton-Vienna-Berlin-Mainz Graduate Exchange in Late Antique, Byzantine and Medieval History', which was co-funded by the International Partnership Scheme.
