Cue 8 is very short, and accompanied Ariel’s appearance. Again, Woolfenden brings back the main themes from both ‘Come unto these yellow sands’ and ‘Full Fathom Five’, this time slightly altered. He also uses the vibraphone again to recall the sound of ‘Full fathom five’, and to this he adds a marimba, a pitched percussion instrument with wooden bars instead of metal but also struck with a padded mallet. It gives a more ‘earthy’ quality to the sound in this cue. In his cue book, Woolfenden writes that the music should not be ‘too tinkling’, and should instead be ‘muted’ and ‘noble’.
